With soil composed of four feet of Marina Sand on top of chalk bedrock, we lovingly call our southeast-facing Syrah blocks, “The Sandbox.” The vines struggle and through that struggle build character. The wines undeniably tell the story of where they come from.

From the beginning of Terre et Sang, we were determined to make a Rhône-varietal wine that showcased the AVA our winery calls home, The Sta. Rita Hills. We targeted one particular pocket of this region as it began to emerge as a premier microcosm for Rhône varieties and Peake Ranch is smack dab in the middle of it.
